Japanese client insists on .WMV file delivery - alternatives or solutions?

I've done research here about ways to export WMV. It appears that bootcamp is the best option - I don't want to deal with that.  Also, most posts are outdated so I figured maybe there was a new solution.

Does anyone have a workaround for exporting .WMV files?  To your knowledge, is this more popular in Japan?!  Is there a file format that will accomplish the same thing as .WMV that I can export (I know this is maybe a situational question)?

Thanks,

Rob

MP4 and WMV are the 2 most popular video file types.

MP4 has universal appeal because it's natively supported by all browsers, platforms & devices.  No extra apps or plugins required.   Among Windows users, WMV is still a popular favorite because the visual quality is allegedly better than MP4 but file size is typically 3-4 times bigger.

Currently I use Movavi video converter.
