Lower resolution file exported at a higher resolution. Any benefit to image quality?

Just wanted to confirm that there's no reason to encode, say, a 16 Mbps file at 20 Mbps, both H.264 codecs with MP4 wrappers.  In fact, would it end up degrading the image a little or just have no effect but give you a larger file when there's no benefit to the file being a little larger than the original?

Hi there,

That's an interesting question. However, increasing the size does not always mean increasing the resolution. It is important to know that when we increase a video resolution, there is a huge chance that the picture quality may decrease or in other words, you may get blurry output.

Does that answer your question? Let us know.

Thanks,

Shivangi
