Media Encoder 2018 Hanging

Media Encoder 2018 (12.0) has been working on rendering a 3:00 video with no effects for 2 hours with no progress. I've tried all I can think of.

Media Encoder 12.0.1 will not open at all, so I downgraded to AME 2017 and Premiere Pro 2018 12.1.0 wouldn't even recognize it, so I uninstalled and reinstated AME 2018 12.0, and Premiere sends files to be rendered to it, but when started, Media Encoder just sits there. In my system logs, I found this:

TIC TCP Conn Event [25:0x61000056e040]: 2

TIC TCP Conn Cancel [25:0x61000056e040]

<private> stream, pid: 12537, url: http://localhost:59259/api/remoteLogin] cancelled

Connected Path: satisfied (Path is satisfied), interface: lo0, dns

bytes in/out: 5830/36938, packets in/out: 23/22, rtt: 0.000s, retransmitted packets: 0, out-of-order packets: 0

It looks as though there's some sort of error in app-to-app communication. I've uninstalled and reinstalled each version (2017, 2018 12.0, and 2018 12.0.1) several times, with no luck. Any ideas? I use Media Encoder all the time, and this is a serious blow to my workflow if I can't get it resolved.

I tried that also but no result.

Also deleting the 12.0 directory (HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobeMediaEncoder/12.0), re-install gaves no result

Hmmm ok. Are you able to open AME but it hangs when you select a file, or does it never open?

Happy to end my troubles with this: I contacted Adobe in a chat, and then Bhupesh Negi (from India I suppose) took over my Mac and solved this problem for me! Very good, very kind and very professional. (But that's what we pay for isn't it?)

The problem was in hidden program-files from older versions that remain in your computer after upgrading to new versions of the software that cause some sort of conflicts. At least that is what I understand of it. : )

Everything ok now, so that is my tip: start a chat with Adobe.

I tried to do just that but here's a new problem: Premiere doesn't start up!

How do I solve this? Is there another way to export mp4 from After Effects CC 2018?

Because that is what I am trying to do.

It seems there are a lot of problem after the latest updates from Adobe!??!?!?

At least I am having some trouble. Can Adobe help?

I would start a support chat and let them do a screen share. I've had a 100% success rate when I've had quirky problems and had a tech help out.

Damn. The only other option I can think of is opening as administrator or root privileges. It's a long shot. Other than that I would contact the chat support.
