Hi there // I'm exporting to New Zealand television and they require the following:

FILE SPECIFICATION. XDCAM HD422 1080i50
Container
Format MXF
Format Profile OP-1A
Format Settings Closed/Complete
Timecode Track Present
Timecode Start 00:58:24:00
Video PID 2
Audio PIDs 3-10
Video Essence
Format MPEG2 Video
Format Settings Wrapping Frame
Format Profile 4:2:2@High
Format Settings GOP (M=3, N=12)
Bit Rate Mode Constant
Bit Rate 50 Mbps
Width 1920
Height 1080
Display Aspect Ratio 16:9
Frame Rate 25fps
Scan Type Interlaced
Scan Order Top Field First
Bit Depth 8 bits
Colour Matrix BT.709
Essence Stream Timecode Start 00:58:24:00
Audio Essence
Format PCM
Format Settings Wrapping Frame AES
Bit Rate Mode Constant
Channel Grouping Per PID 1
Bit Rate per Mono Track 1152 Kbps
Sampling Rate 48 kHz
Bit Depth 24 bits

There's a preset in ME under MXF OP1a called XDCAMHD 50 PAL (4:2:2) which I'm ASSUMING will get me close, but I'm assuming. There aren't any options for controlling the bit rate, bit depth, GOP settings.

There is a checkbox to "Force Fixed-Length GOPs" but then when checked, there aren't any options to actually set the length of the GOP, so again, I'm guessing at what I'm getting. I'm sure it will all be fine for the export, but I don't actually know what I'm getting.

There are GOP settings in the MPEG2 container, but I can't control anything in MXF OP1a.

Many thanks, Paul

You are not able to change details, because we follow the SMPTE spec.  The requirements from NZ Television are also following the spec.  The only thing you're allowed to tweak here is whether the audio is 16 or 24 bit, and that's exposed in the audio settings.  Everything else we do is not tweakable, otherwise the file wouldn't conform to XDCAM HD 422.

Hope this helps.
