Files that have been altered outside of Adobe Scan cannot be modified

I've been using Adobe Scan for some time and today I wanted to modify a scan to add more pages, but it won't let me, showing that message. I opened up more scans and some are showing the same message. I don't know what's happening, I haven't modified these scans in any way whatsoever, no comments, no attachments, no page arrangement. I only use Adobe Scan so I don't know why it won't let me modify the files.

Thanks in advance

Hi @safy22569684pps1

As we have tried to reproduce the issue on our end but it doesn't show the message for files that are not altered outside of Adobe scan.

Would you mind sharing a few details to understand the issue better?

1. If possible, could you share the file with us?

2. Application version?

3. OS name and version?

Make sure that the app is updated to the latest version.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Harsh

I am having this exact issue as well. It forces me to go into Doc Cloud and combine the files every evening. It is not all files that get the error, it seems random, but will lock down the whole day's files. I cannot seem to get help from anyone on this...... I just spent three hours on an Adobe chat for this issue, for them to tell me to come here..... PLEASE HELP!!!!

I'm seeing the same issue for only one of my documents. Unfortunately it's sensitive so I can't share it, but I can give the other details.

App version 24.04.16
iPadOS 17.4.1
The file was not edited anywhere outside the app. It's 32 pages long. I hadn't even edited it inside the app, just scanned and saved, planning to rotate and recrop later (which I unfortunately cannot do now). No error messages were given when initially saving the file.

When I have this issue I copy all pages to my phone in jpg format and save
them to a new folder in Adobe Scan. After I double check that all pages are
there in a new scan I delete the original file. I can then edit or alter
the pages.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Jessica36877045v7a7,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Adobe Scan.

Would you mind sharing a screen recording of the event, on what you see when trying to use the modify scan option?

This shouldn't be happening and would be something that I would like the team to investigate further.

Also @David22479806qfzv shared a good workaround to get through on this issue.

Let us know if this helps.
