I am evaluating Adobe Sign for use as a one-way secure document delivery solution that provides a delivery receipt once the recipient has received and downloaded the document(s). We sometimes need the document itself to be signed by the recipient and returned, but it is far more common that we just need one-way delivery to the recipient and some log, email notice or something simple acknowledging receipt and download.
These documents contain sensitive information, which is why we cannot use email. These documents must be delivered through a secure web service and we need some way of restricting access to only those clients the documents are intended for. Ideally, that would involve a log-in and strong password with a one-time code sent to the user's smart phone. Once the client downloads the document to their computer, the original should be automatically deleted from the website.
Can Adobe Sign be used for documents that do not require signatures and return of the executed documents back to the sender? Can Adobe Sign deliver documents in a relatively secure manner as described above? Can it provide a delivery acknowledgement receipt and automatic deletion post-delivery?
If Adobe Sign cannot be used as described, can you recommend another product?
Thanks very much!
HI ken,
Adobe Sign can be used in such a way, but requires one of the higher end plans, which may be a tad overkill for your needs.
The One time pin is also an option, but would incur additional charges on top of the subscription for Adobe Sign.
Adobe Sign can also be set to automatically apply retention to upload documents, (but keeps the audit trail)
have a look at "Adobe send now" instead, which focus on secure delivery, although without any signing capability.

Send and track large files easily | Adobe Send & Track
though looking at your requirements Adobe Send may not be enough.
For Adobe Sign you'd be looking to get a Business or Enterprise plan:
Adobe Sign plans for individuals and businesses | Adobe Document Cloud
free 2 week trial Free electronic signature trial | Adobe Sign (formerly EchoSign)

Simon:
Thanks very much for your reply - it was helpful.
I have now reviewed Adobe Send and Track and the website is fairly vague on details. I understand that the sent documents are stored on Adobe Document Cloud. The intended recipient receives a link via email and can click on that link to view and/or download the document.
Is that all the security there is? Can anyone with that link open the document without a password or any further authentication? Just click the link?
Thanks!
