Adobe XD falling behind competitors?

New Here ,
Oct 30, 2017 Oct 30, 2017

It seems like this year was focused on getting a Windows version of XD released. The amount of other significant new features seemed few and not game chaging. Now Adobe has new competitors like InVision that have leapfrogged XD in terms of feature/functionlality. How can Invision put out a brand new product in such a short time while Adobe just releases minor upgrades to its platform? Seems like its time for Adobe to fully support the XD platform and ramp up the development effort to stay compeititive. I am a loyal Adobe customer, but a bit frustrated with XD's velocity right now.

My best guess about InVision is that they are a well funded startup where the whole focus is on that tool, and not a relatively small team in a huge company.

I just applied for a job there (having given up for now on getting Adobe to hire me)!

One funny thing, in the InVision trailer video they show a large screen of company logos, companies that are using InVision. Adobe is one of them.

How do you know InVision made it "In such a short time"? If InVision was smart, they would have seen where the market was going with Adobe and Sketch and would have been proactive. If their app works as well as their demo video, I'd think it must have been in development for quite some time, but they kept it a secret so they could surprise their competitors.

That said, I agree that Adobe is in a tough spot with XD. They have numerous competitors who are all small and agile. Ultimately I see this competition as good for us users. It's motivation for all these companies to get moving and keep innovating.

I hope we'll be seeing more features in XD soon. Last year Adobe showed features that are still unreleased, so now that Windows and Mac versions are done, hopefully they can start adding new features more rapidly again.

I checked with whois, and the web address was registered in 2009. Maybe they were doing something else for a while, or have taken 8 years so far.
