Adobe XD Slowness issue on macOS(10.14.5) & XD version(21.0.12.11).

Explorer ,
Jul 22, 2019 Jul 22, 2019

I am currently working on a design system for a client, using the components library.

I have a lot of dynamic elements(140) , artboards (30) in this document, no image at all, only vector elements and text. The file size is 700ko.

After working 5-10 minutes everything becomes very slow. Sometimes I have to wait 2-3 sec to zoom or pan through the artboards.

The only thing I can do is to reboot my Macbook, but the issue comes back anyway.

I have tried "Onyx" software and "Ccleaner" to improve the performances. But nothing helped.

Thank you for your quick feedback on this topic, my schedule is actually tight and this issue is killing my productivity.

Hi, thanks for sharing the specifications of your computer with us. However, it could be a graphics card problem. Have you checked if there are any updates?

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. But, the graphics are managed by the OS directly right? So, if my OS is up to date (which is the case) the drivers should be ok ?

Maybe am I missing something ?

For information, I have installed the last version of XD this morning : 21.12.1.3.

I still have the issue.

I didn't succeed in joining people with your link. I tried the "enterprise support options" -> "assisted support" in the creative cloud section. It says something like I do not have access to the Admin console... I do not know what it means. HARSHIKA VERMA, I accept your help to connect with the support team.

Thank you in advance.

To keep this feed updated

It seems Adobe XD gets slower when I have to display a lot of elements in the "Components" list (left panel). So I tried to filter and to only display the "Colors" for example : instantly the navigation through my artboards got smoother. It is not optimal but "better"

It is just an hypothesis but it seems this aspect of XD need to be optimized.

I am not very conversant with Mac versions, but if you are on a Beta version of Mac OS, the team knows of issues with it. We recommend using an official version of OS when working with XD. However, if you are on an official version, send Harshika the details she requested for. We will do our best to help.

Thanks,

Preran

Your configuration has more RAM and is more recent... And it is still slow. Now we are sure it is not related to the configuration.

Try to filter the left components panel in order to limit the number of elements you display in it. Maybe I am crazy, but it helps a bit from my perspective.

After using XD (Slowmotion Edition) for 3 weeks now, I am sure the issue comes from the components library.

The soft / file runs perfectly until I go in there. No need to rename, delete or whatever. Just open the components library and everything goes slower after a few seconds. The only way to get a "fresh" state is to close your file and re-open it. I let you imagine the pain when you have to use it regularly...

To the technical team : please do something. A whole company is going to use this design system. We would have to switch to another solution if the performances issues are not fixed. 😕

Yes, I'm still having issues with XD lagging. I'm also sure it's related to the Assets Library.

My working file just gets extremely slow:

• Command + to zoom takes >10 seconds to execute;

• Click on a element can take up to 16 seconds to select;

I have quit, restarted, reinstalled, it keeps doing that.

I am also experiencing the same issue on my fairly new macbook (less than 1 year old), my older iMac and my Surface Pro 3.

I'm not running on any beta OS. Everything is up to date.

Even filtering the Assets panel is not cutting that much time.

Here is how my files are configured:

In order to complete the Cuiz's feedback, here is a video of what I experience everyday : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oafDngnNagHXomxZwpEv4x85Ce_f62HV

One file, where everything is very slow after using components library. Another one, where I did not use the component library while my session -> everything is perfectly smooth.

I have activated the "mouse click" while recording, this way you can see the delay between an action and its response.
