Buttons beneath fly-out components still active

Adobe XD version 37.1.32.2

I've created a fly-out component whose expanded state overlaps other buttons. As this simple wireframe shows (video attached)...the circle button is threaded to switch between the two artboards. The rectangle drop-down component opens in front of the circle, but still allows for the button underneath to be active. This happens on multiple files/tests.

Is there a way to make the button beneath not function when covered (especially when I start adding states and buttons to the fly-out component)?

This is how it always worked and I don't think it will change any time soon. The only way is to make a transition to a copy of an artboard with no actions on elements and set it to show overlay with timed action on this artboard itself.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the reply. I suppose I will need to re-arrange my layout so this isn't an issue.
