hi,
I lost 2 projects becaus of that because MY PORTFOLIO AND PRESENTATION WAS EXPORTED FROM PC XD and viewer were MAC USERS. I just now (after 3 weeks) informed that "your documents were broken"
I've read 2 post about this. All Adobe team like this:
1) please dont use Mac Preview. Use Adobe Acrobat (could you tell this to all PDF viewers. how old are you?)
2) we could not reproduce your problem
3) try to re place images
4) (after a while, months ago) yeah we understand that this was an issue. We will update help document (what? and where is that document why non of you did not share that page that related to this issue)
damn!

I guess you're referring to this discussion:

That's really strange stuff !! Wowww...
I did a test and was able to reproduce it.
Apple's QuickView and Preview indeed yield strange results. But is doesn't always have to do with opacities and/or cropped images (in either way, by dragging or masking). Yes, Acrobat renders them correctly, but Illustrator is also detecting some incorrect resources in the file, when I open the PDF in it. So there must be something different (or at least more) wrong than just an Apple glitch.
Here are my screenshots.
Four artboards in XD. The first three are a combination of an image dragged into a frame (top) and an image masked by a frame (bottom), with normal opacity (artboard 1), decreased opacity for the whole element (artboard 2), decreased opacity for the content (artboard 3). Artboard 4 are just a whole images, dragged onto the artboard, the top one in 100%, bottom one with decreased opacity.
Note: the PDF shows exactly the same bugs when exported from the most recent version (v28) on Windows. So the trouble starts in XD.
It's just unbelievable this is going wrong in such a Big Way !
I understand that Adobe XD wants to break with old interface guidelines, but how on earth can it happen that they mess up their own plain PDF so terribly ?? I wouldn't be surprised if a shady free design app from a development intern at a startup would yield this result. But an Adobe app, for more than a year ?

It seems I have a similar issue of strange cropped images within Mask containers, and or the image is flipped - but only when exporting to PDF from XD. It does appear most often when I use Apple's preview, but I've also seen this within the PDF when viewing with Acrobat. It seems the creators of PDF can't seem to manage their own tech.
