Holding down SHIFT key makes object flicker in Adobe XD

Explorer ,
May 26, 2020 May 26, 2020

Hi there,

I've been experience these two strange behaviours:

- Holding down SHIFT while dragging will make the object flicker.

- Trying to select several text elements with SHIFT doesn't work anymore.

Any thoughts?

After yesterday's outage, XD is working just fine once again.
I don't really know what brought it back to normality, but... here we are.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We will need to test this on our end, so could you please share a few more details like:

  1. The version of Adobe XD and the exact version of the Operating System.
  2. Does this happen on a specific file or multiple files?
  3. If it is happening on multiple files, please ensure that your Graphics card is up to date as per the manufacturer's website.
  4. Do you use an external monitor? If yes, could you test this without an external monitor and on the primary screen?

Regards

Rishabh

Hi Rishbah,

Thank you for your prompt response. Here's what you asked for:

Adobe XD version 29.0.32   (Uninstalled, and re-installed just in case).

Operating System:

Graphics card (updated just now)

This is happening in multiple files. I have 2 monitors connected through HDMI and HDVI>HDMI. It happens on both, and also, I've now detected that holding down ALT won't switch Zoom In to Zoom out, so it's definitely not a graphical issue, it's something to do with keys. And it doesn't happen in, say, Illustrator. So, it's XD specific.

Let me know if I can share anything else to help you with this.

Thank you!

Thanks for sharing detailed information, it's really helpful. Will it be possible for you to just test it once without any external monitor?

I'm not sure I'm following. This is a desktop computer, there's no way to test this without the external monitors, because there is no built-in screen here.

I am so sorry for the confusion, please test this with only one monitor connected without any additional monitor.

Tested with both individually (the other disconnected). Same.

Here's a screen recording:

1. Trying to select multiple text elements. As you can see, it works 1 out of 4 attempts.

2. Moving objects with SHIFT held down. Element flickers.

3. Trying to click on eyedropper. It won't work.

Also, now I'm detecting that certain hot keys like "i" for Eyedropper are not working either. But others are. EDIT: I can't use the eyedropper even clicking on it.

They work fine in Illustrator and Photoshop.

This is clearly becoming a serious problem. 😞
