how to make new document from existing one linked to its library?

I have a document from which I 've published a library.

If I now save this document under a new name, it's no longer linked to the published library, all assets appear as local. How do I avoid that so that I can have a copy that is still linked to the published library?

You don't save the library to create a new file, you connect new files to that shared library. You can see how that works in the videos here https://www.adobe.com/products/xd/learn/get-started-xd-components-libraries.html

I hope that helps, best wishes!
