Description: I’ve been experiencing Error 44:76 for the past week while trying to publish my prototype link.
This has been ongoing, and I’ve been unable to share my prototype.
Details:

  • The exisiting link is not getting updated and new link is not generating.
  • The error Error 44:76 occurs every time I attempt to publish "create link" or "update the link".
  • Upload speed is consistently slow.
  • I've been dealing with this issue for over a week now.
  • My Adobe creative cloud plan is active.

Steps Taken:

  • Restarted the upload process multiple times.
  • Logout & Signed in to the Creative Cloud account
  • Restarted my laptop.
  • Tried to create the artwork in a new file.
  • Tried saving the file in different location on my laptop
  • Checked my internet connection for any issues (all seems fine).
  • Tried uploading smaller files to see if file size is a factor, but no change.
  • Blank artboards are getting published easily.

Request for Assistance:

  • Has anyone else encountered this issue recently?
  • Are there any additional troubleshooting steps I can follow to resolve this persistent problem?
  • Could this be a platform-wide issue?
  • I need to generate link urgently.

I would appreciate any help or insights!

@Neha_Chitnis Are there images in your XD file? Did you resize the images in Photoshop, or used it as is?

Using large images can significantly increase file size, especially when those images are much larger than necessary. For example, if you download a 20" x 70" image but only need a 2" x 7" version, the file size will be unnecessarily large. This can lead to slow loading times and a poor user experience, particularly when multiple large images are used in an XD prototype. To optimize images, it's crucial to resize them to the appropriate dimensions and choose the correct file format and compression settings. By doing so, you can significantly reduce file size without sacrificing image quality, resulting in faster loading times and a more enjoyable user experience in your prototype and likely avoid the error code

I would resize the images in Photoshop. And then drag it through Tinyjpg.com or tinypng.com to make it even smaller.

Your error code was submitted as a bug going back to 2021. But for some, it still exists. With my students homework assignments where they create a movie mockup databases some were close to 80mb, and they had no issues at all. I did have one student who had close to 260mb file, and told them resize the images and save the images 'save for the web' which saves at 72ppi. Which reduced the file size dramatically.

Hi @creative explorer

Thanks for your guidance! Unfortunately, I’m still encountering the same error after following the suggested steps. In addition to that, I also tried removing all images and content from the artboard, just to see if the prototype link could be generated. Despite these efforts, I’m still facing Error 44:76.

My upload speed remains consistently slow, but other than that, nothing seems to have changed. I've been using Adobe XD since 2016 and have always loved it. However, I've been facing this issue since December and have tried multiple troubleshooting steps without success. Given the persistence of the problem, I feel sad but don’t have any other option than to consider switching from Adobe XD to Figma.

Any further suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

@Neha_Chitnis the only thing I can think of is one of the files is corrupted. or the XD file is corrupted. If it was working fine in the past, and only this one file is not able to share the prototype, it wouldn't matter if you made the switch to Figma, because it will do the same thing too as well.

Figma is a great program. There are certain elements I like about it, and some things I don't like about it.

My suggestion is to create a new file, and each time you place an image, share the prototype. It may mean, you need to open the link in an 'Incognito' window to see if it gives you an error code.  Keep on working and placing artwork, until you get the error message...
