It feels like Adobe isn't listening re: animated gifs and embedded videos - when will this be implemented?

It is 2018 and video is the most clicked/viewed content online.  How is it that this phenomenal system not only doesn't allow us to embed video, but not even animated gifs to simulate video and keep the file size down?

I'm sure Elaine will say that this feature currently isn't supported and I can feel free to vote on it - I've done that, as have over 300 other professionals who pay for the service/software.  Since 2016.

Is there an update on when either embedded video or animated gif support will be included in XD?

I understand that the team is getting to as many requests as possible with every release while trying to ensure that the current experience is not adversely affected in any way.
