link to artboard still clickable/working when behind a layer. is this a feature?

So far this method produces my point: 1. create a rectangle with white fill 2. create two (2) simple texts 3. connect the texts to different artboards (prototype mode) 4. place text A (connected to an artboard) to the back of the rectangle (bottom layer). 5. leave text B (also connected to an artboard) at the top layer. 6. hovering the mouse where text A was visibly located reveals that it is still clickable and working regardless of the rectangle element blocking it. Adobe XD version: 22.7.12.3 Windows 10 1903 (Build 18362.387) if it helps
