Maybe I don't understand the overlay function right. I have a simple drop down menu which appears as a small piece of overlay graphic. However in previous XD-projects the overlay disappeared when I clicked somewhere outside of it. This is not the case now, the only way to get rid of it is to use the back button - is there a setting I am missing?

That is strange behavior. In my version of XD any click will remove the overlay, whether it be inside or outside of the overlay area

Hi Henrik,
Sorry that you are experiencing the unexpected behavior using overlays. Could you please share the version of Adobe XD that you are using along with the OS version. I would be great if you could share the prototype with us so that we can investigate further.
Thanks,

Hi Henrik, thanks for sharing the prototype. I have checked the prototype. It works as expected, could you please elaborate more about the situation? I see a drop down and it disappears on the second click as explained by N8wn8w.
Could you please try a different browser and check if that works for you?
Thanks,

Hi Atul
Thats really strange. When I test it on brand new iPad 5, an iMac, Windows 10 Edge og iPhone SE it wont go away on any of them. The blue highlight appears every time I click indicating the link, but the overlay stays. I wonder how you checked it. If I view the prototype on my iPad and click way above where the desktop area ends (it’s a desktop size design and will therefore appear minimized on an iPad) then the overlay disappears as it should. But not when I click either on or around/below it which are the areas where you’re supposed to click...

I see what's happening. Looks like this is an issue with your design. Can you try recreating the menu using info in this tutorial Create a Working Sidebar Menu & Overlay - Adobe Xd Tutorial - YouTube and let us know if it helped?
Thanks,

Hi Preran
Thanks for your comment. I don't need to do that, it works perfectly if I create a new file, I know that - it's just that the files seem to get corrupted along the way when working on them over longer periods of time. If it's something I did wrong I would like to know, but I don't think there are that many ways you can make an overlay, or - ?
Regards,
Henrik
