Random crashes on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3

New Here ,

Hi, i'm getting random Adobe XD (CC) 6.0.12.6 crashes every 20 minutes or so on MacOS HIgh Sierra 10.13.3 on a Macbook Pro Late 2013. It's really frustrating and i've already lost several hours of work thanks to this and due to the fact XD doesn't have an periodical autosave feature like other software does, if XD has this feature it's not working on my installation for some reason.
I'm just working on something, and it just crashes and prompts me to send a report to Adobe and then to Apple, nothing else. There doesn't seem to be any particular pattern to this, it just crashes after some time working maybe it has something to do with the number of elements on display or groups as i have several of those.

I also had a virtual machine running at the time, could a lack of RAM cause this issue? Even with the VM running i should still easily have over 4GB of RAM available as my machine has 8GB installed. Disk space is also at around 45GB free at the moment.
Does anyone have similar issues? Is there a known fix?

Greetings:

Good observation re: VM and possible issues with resources. It definitely sounds like that's the issue.

You've got plenty of free disk space. The minimum system requirement for RAM is 4G, so you're right on the edge which could be a problem if anything else digs into RAM for resources (further details here, Adobe XD System requirements).

If you run XD for a while without the VM and still see the crashes, please collect and share with me the following:

1. Crash log.

Open Console app, click on 'All Messages' and look for AdobeXD log files in ~/Library/Logs or /Library/Logs

2. XD log. Open the Terminal and enter the following

log show --predicate 'processImagePath CONTAINS "Adobe XD"' --last 3h >xd-log.txt

On a related note, there's an autosave feature request in the XD User Voice forum. I encourage you to up-vote, Auto Save (in case of system crash) – Adobe XD Feedback : Feature Requests & Bugs. When the feature is implemented you'll be notified.

Hope this helps!

Nina
