"Organize your colors, character styles, and symbols in the Assets panel. Simply drag to reorder them in the list view."
I'm not able to do this. W10. All up to date. Posting this in the XD forum cause it is mentioned as a new XD feature.
The Assets panel the release notes are referring to is the Assets panel in the Adobe XD desktop app. It's not talking about the Assets section of the published design specs. The new feature works as expected in the desktop app, not the published design specs you view in a browser (as you've seen). I can see how that could be confusing because there is something called Assets in both places.
If you want to be able to reorder assets in the published design specs, you can create a feature request on

Can you confirm that you are on version 11.0.22?

Hi Perrybrus, sorry about that you are unable to re-arrange the assets panel. In addition to what Preran has asked, could you please share the OS build and the region that you are from? I would like to know if you have you tried this on another document or on another machine?
Awaiting your response.
Thanks,
Atul_Saini

Please, stop asking about Adobe update numbers. Do you operate with different version numbers for each client?! I'm constantly getting asked by you guys about this but if an update does not contain unique software versions for each indidivudal then it shouldn't be asked. These errors normally occur directly after new updates are released. XD: 11.0.22.10
Don't you test your software on Windows? Since your asking about OS build. Yes, as normal errors occur on all machines I have tried this on. I'm running around like a mad chicken testing different machines on the hunt for something that works. That's the life of an Adobe customer.

This feature works on my Windows computer, so there must be something Adobe needs to figure out about yours. They ask about your system to help troubleshoot. Different versions of a system (or different languages) can create problems they may need to work around in a specific environment. Adobe asked for more info so they can investigate and figure out the issue. I know it's frustrating to find a bug, but software is complex and no company cannot possibly test very scenario.

Make sure you're in List View. You cannot reorder Assets (or rename them) in Grid View.

Try to reinstall new version.

New version of what? It's about the CC service and not a specific app, so I don't think deleting my whole user account and re-install with new user data is the answer here. One would presume the whole sharing system is a bit buggy, or unstable in lack of a better word. It's very common right after new updates. As a matter of fact I have gotten used to expecting trouble after updates.

I think he means to uninstall XD and reinstall it.

I'm confused by that statement. You are having an issue with Adobe XD, which is a specific app installed on your Windows machine, right?

I mean to uninstall and install only Adobe XD CC from CC Application Manager. You do not need to deal with your primary account

The CC sharing system is not about one app. It's a cloud service that makes people able to share files produced in different apps. It's a generic concept and it has nothing to do with for instance XD as such. Adobe just released the news that we can now reorder assets, as in all assets like vector objects, color pallettes etc. I'm not able to reorder anything in my asset section. Neither can my colleagues. We are all stuck with delete and upload. That's all we can do at this moment in time.

You can only reorder assets within the desktop Adobe XD app, not the published design specs. Reordering within the XD app is the new feature Adobe announced.

The August release of XD is addressing an update for the asset panels in CC. That's not connected to XD as such, but its a general update in the sharing service that is part of the cloud concept, but since Adobe quoted that update as well in the XD release notes (see my first post) I'm addressing this issue here in the XD forum. I have not seen a specific forum for the asset section of CC.

Dan, I see. That actually was a tad confusing. Perhaps I've been so focused on not being able to reorder my assets in CC that I overlooked the assets within XD. Actually I'm in bigger need to reorder the assets in the CC UI than inside XD cause I'm getting frustrated from the lack of flexibility there. I'll check out the reordering of assets within XD, let's hope Adobe will adapt that to CC so we can get some structure into the assets we are both sharing and storing.
