The Apple typeface SF is not available as TT or OT files in the UI kit Apple offers to the XD users. They only offer this kit for XD users on Mac obviously. When I go to the link I get from Get UI kits within XD I get this page Design Resources - Apple Developer
All I see in the font folder within the IOS kit package is a .pkg file and a textfile. No Windows font files. When I look in my fontlist in XD there is a SF font there from an installment I did earlier, that's believed to be a replica font apparently made by a guy that was sick of not being able to use the font on Windows, so he made it with all the weights. At least that's the urban legend. I cannot confirm this. See below. However, when I open the official IOS UI kit file I get the all so familiar "fonts missing" message in XD. I'm not able to open the different font weights from a list of SF weights inside XD when the IOS kit is open, but if I exit the document I'm able to both detect and use all SF weights on a new document. All SF weights are available when I'm in PS nomatter what document I have open. I even opened the PSD version of the IOS UI kit to see if the was any differences in the way my fonts were populated in the dropdown menu in each program.
Is there an official SF typeface release for Windows users somewhere? In the License agreement for SF UI font is says For IOS and OSX application only but I'm able to write with all the weights in Windows and as you can see they are in OT formats.
