Sharing same file - elements slightly off

Hello,

I've been using Adobe XD to create wireframes, designs, responsive designs etc. for numerous projects with developers and other designers. However, one thing we've noticed is that when we share the XD file to one another the elements show up slightly off or slightly different for the other person. Examples:

  • Text that should be centred in an object is now slightly off by quite a few pixels
  • Sometimes, the text box width is slightly smaller by a few pixels?

Here's a particular example - I've recently downloaded the wireframe kit from Adobe XD and one of the pages came up like this:

Screenshot 2020-11-03 at 12.07.48 PM.png

You can tell that the play button element should be in the centre of the video icon but it's not.

It doesn't happen for every single element and not as often, but it happens enough that sometimes mistakes are made when developing client projects. Not sure if this is a bug or not.

Hope someone can help out!! Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please confirm if you are using a character style where font size is in decimal if yes, please refer to this discussion: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-xd/latest-update-has-broken-document-assets-character-styles-xd...

If that's not the case, could you please confirm the version of XD and is this happening on a specific file or multiple files?

Regards

Rishabh

Hi Rishabh,

No, the character styles aren't in decimals for sizes. They're all in whole numbers. This issue also pertains to shapes though and we try not to use decimals whatsoever in our projects.

The version of XD is 34.2.12.2 but this has been going on for multiple versions and for a couple of months. This also happens on different XDs on different computers.

It is happening on multiple files, regardless if we made it or if we've downloaded it (as shown in the image in my original post through the Adobe XD web UI kit).
