Slow Save

Explorer ,
Nov 19, 2017 Nov 19, 2017

I had this issue prior to the update and prior to my update of Windows. I still have yet to replicate the exact reason why I am using a lot of many of the XD features.

When the slow save issue is present just deleting one shape take the save a long time. Restarting the app usually helps and then saving the same shape without the issue present a quick save.

Thanks. Have you tried saving to a local folder vs. a synced folder? (The latter would mean CC, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) Does that make any difference for you?

Does this happen on all files or just some?

Thanks,

Preran

I'll have to test that for the moment on one file.

I have the same issue. I have only tested mine on one file. But the save is very slow and it seems like XD freezes. There is no dialog to show that it is saving, so one time I thought it was finished saving and closed the file. But when I reopened it, the changes weren't saved.

I'd check a couple of things:

- The size of images in your document

- Any fonts that require you to be connected to the Internet.

Try creating a new file using regular fonts and images that are not very heavy. Let me know how that went.

Thanks,

Preran

I've recently created a new XD file that contains the following:

Montserrat Regular & Bold

A card as a symbol
     number, name, shape white background

This symbol is repeated in a 7 x 12 layout.

I used a txt file to add to numbers & names to the symbol.

No images

No large amounts of text

This was done on one 1920 x 1080 art board only.

I manage to get a video recording of a project I was working on.

Save Lags - Bug on Adobe XD - YouTube

As a response to updating drivers, I have the latest according to MS as they manage updates and not Intel since I have a Surface Pro 3.

Another issue that might be related is when you try to save for the first time when saving instead of being a "SAVE" the action results as "SAVE AS" and opens a file explorer. Closing the window and saving again will result in saving this time as a normal "SAVE" when not lagging.

Actually, Windows may give you an outdated version of the driver. Even if you have a Surface Book, I would suggest going to Intel to check on the driver version.

Driver Update Attempt.PNG

Surface Pro 3.

Here is the attempt trying to download straight from Intel driver updates.

Edit: Reading history updates for SP3 and the last Intel update was on Jan 30 for 20.19.15.4568 (driver version I have)

Update: I was updating a project with more art boards and decided to keep the XD file in a local folder (no sync). During this time I haven't seen the "Slow save hanging" however I did still have the issue where I save and it open the file explorer rather than saving.
