SVG appears below other item for unknown reason

My SVG (the purple picture) is appearing underneath the white rectangle with the border radius even though the SVG is at the top of the layers menu. The SVG was imported in a Mac from files (don't know if that would affect it). Any help in this would be much appreciated.

Your rectangle or svg likely have 3D transform enabled and their Z axis is changed, so they appear above / below other layers regardless of the layer stack.

 

Select the rectange and enable the 3D transform if it isn't. Then make sure the Z is 0, before you disable it again. Do the same for the SVG, if the issue isn't the rectangle.
