Useful Muse features to XD

New Here ,
Jan 12, 2019 Jan 12, 2019

Dear Adobe,

First of all, thank you for creating XD.

I believe this is the most useful tool that can be used for many different projects.

Here are some vital features I wish it's available in near future.

  • Export to web (MUST!!!!!!)
    • I'm sure Exporting to HTML is under review, but I believe bringing Export to web feature from Muse will work the best. Export as HTML file can leave a number of problems, but if it publishes directly from XD to designated host will be secure, and bug-free. It's already been done from Muse, so I believe it's possible right?
      (Please say yes!)

  • In-Browser editing
    • This feature has been loved by my clients, and they were shocked to hear that feature may stop around May of next year. Share for review is a wonderful tool as well, but In-browser editing will bring it to the next level.

  • Widgets
    • Widgets such as SNS feed fetcher (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc's), Forms, Slideshows, Panel will be really useful on XD. (Allowing 3rd party widgets will be really cool as well.)

  • Parallel scrolling
    • Parallel scrolling allowed many amazing viewing experiences to a user.

There you have it!

These features are already available on Muse, so nothing is new but which are not available on XD.
Since Muse is discontinuing on 2020, I wish more useful features from Muse integrates over to XD.

Thank you very much for reading this, and wish this feedback helps XD improvements.

Sincerely,

Sungjun Hwang

Graphic Designer

XD is a prototyping tool while Muse was a website builder, i.e. they are completely different tool. XD should never generate code.

kennethkawamoto2 Thank you for your response, and I do understand XD is a 'prototyping tool.' However, I believe XD works better than Muse to create a website. Additionally, Muse is officially announced to discontinued in 2020. Therefore, I just thought merging two application is super beneficial.  XD already has the ability to share prototype to a client via web. So I think it will be awesome to share the same experience with the public.  Don't you think so?

It's impossible to generate efficient code automatically from visual design tool, and if Muse couldn't do it XD won't be able to do it either in any case. Looking at Adobe site they are suggesting to use Free Visual and Digital Storytelling App | Adobe Spark Page  and Adobe Portfolio | Build your own personalized website  - may be you can take a look at them?

Indeed it's super important to generate efficient code automatically.

When I tried designing website prototype on XD, and exported for testing it worked so well.

Animations were smooth, the loading time was fast, and it worked on any browsers that I've tested.

Export is currently purpose for review only by selective people.

If Adobe adds Export as web and gives custom hosting/domain option then it's already a great web design application.

The design process is much faster than Muse, and many advance tools available compare to Spark.

It's just that mindblowing how useful XD really can be.

Adobe, please do it.

I'll be happy if that's replacement of Muse. For real.
