XD 44, Unable to open a shared file after update

I cannot open a file, which has been shared with me, because of XD version problems. The dialog says that I can go back to a previous version, but I have no idea, which changes that will include. 

The work with shared files in a team becomes more and more tiring. Why is this happening, what can we do to avoid this problems?
