XD Cloud save breaks text tool interaction entirely

As the title reads, if I have the misfortune of writing something in a text field or even attempt to double-click into a text field to edit when a cloud save happens, XD stops all responses from text inputs. The only way around this is to change tools willy nilly and re-try the text field, yet, that rarely helps as other tools also tend to bug out as well.

 

Neither does waiting for the Cloud save to finish, if the bug happened prior. This issue has persisted for about a year now.

 

Please please please someone tell me the community already knows this and how to avoid it? It can't be right that you have to instinctly react to the top "cloud save" indication and suddenly treat the keyboard as if it's glowing red hot?

 

And if that's the case, could you perhaps develop an XD plugin that emits a huge flashing red triangle some time before the cloud save happens? Or would it just be better to never use anything cloud-related with XD?

So far it's looking like it's resolved as it hasn't happened since I updated XD. Yay!

Still a thing.

 

It isn't reasonable to having to restart XD because of the feature cloud save state.

It's old tech. I just don't understand why all of the canvas but especially text fields must be destroyed. It's a state. It's a save state -- it's already happened. I don't understand how sending that saved state MUST destroy objects on the live canvas.

V 57.0.12 -- some lingering thoughts

While I appreciate that the sending of the save state is now clearly indicated further, I must add that also telling the user of remaining qualities to send and how long that would take, is directly useful to the workability that is XD today.

The problem: waiting seemingly forever (hours) for a cloud save to finish.

The solution: inform the users of the progress, simply so that the progress can be forcefully interrupted if needed.

I might be wrong about this but it seems Adobe isn't likely to adopt an optimistic uploading scheme, and so I believe something like moving towards total transparency in the cloud behavour would be very good for users.
