XD hard crashing after Big Sur update

Screen will cut to black, and then... the computer is off.

I've tested it and it's definitely XD that's causing it.  No other program, Adobe or otherwise.

I've even uninstalled and re-installed XD.  That helped for a time, but the hard crashes still happen.
I'm currently downgrading my OS (backing up my HD as I type this).

Here's the specs of my machine:
macOS Big Sur Ver: 11.5.2
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Anyone else getting this?

So, the answer, it turns out, was a power-related issue.
XD seems to draw a lot of power and that's why I thought it was XD.  It wasn't.
Nothing to seee here.  Return to what you were doing.
In case there is anyone else who is experiencing this problem you'll find the answer if you google: MBP-Anti-CrashLevel2
I've installed it and haven't had any issues since.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please ensure you have the latest version of XD which is 43.0 and in case if it is already up to date and still its crashing, please share a few more details like:

  1. Is it happening on a specific file or multiple files?
  2. Please collect system logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html
  3. Please collect spin dump file by following the steps shared below:
  • Launch Activity Monitor
  • Select Adobe XD process (might show as “Not Responding”)
  • Click on the gear in the upper left of the Activity Monitor
  • Select “Spindump”
  • This will generate a text file

Please add both the file to a shared location like Google Drive or DropBox and share the link with me by clicking on my name.

Regards

Rishabh

Hi Rishabh,

I just sent you a link via personal message (by clicking on your name).

I'll also send you this email (clicking on "Reply to this message") and
follow-up by saying, the problem only occurs when I'm unplugged from my
laptop. Keeping my laptop plugged in seems not to cause the hard crash. A
few minutes into working with XD with the laptop unplugged, however, will
cause the crash - even with a full battery.

The problem of the Log Collector Tool still persists:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fp0BnUAy_S6ESuUqAx2o4TrDY6BRgE1o/view?usp=sharing

However I was able use Console, under System.log to find some info on what
happened during the crash- See below.
(I've marked the area in red where the crash occurred).

I am having the same problems but with PS. Did you just download the app and opened?

Do you do that everytime or just once?
