I don't know what got updated or what but XD is not running properly. The text tool is not responding and the app does not respond, the app will not crash though. Text works in Illustrator and Photoshop just fine.
Running:
XD 40.1.22
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
Installed on 4/30/2021
OS build 19043.985
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Intel® UHD Graphics 630
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Memory usage seems high when I try to use the text tool. I have to force quit with the task manager.

For the life of me, I can't wrap my head around what could be causing this but I hope someone out there can HELP!!

I think I just found the answer.
The driver for the Intel® UHD Graphics 630 did not update correctly and I had to reinstall that driver.

This fixed worked for a day and I'm just get around to trying to fix it for good. I did a total uninstall of Adobe with CC Cleaning tool, log attached. This did not help. All drivers are updated and updated again. This did not work. XD works fine until I try to place type. No fonts show it just stops responding but won't crash. Text tool works fine in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

I am unable to reproduce the issue at my end on a windows machine. Could you please check the latest update to your graphic card driver by visiting the manufacturer's site?
