I have created a component, and in that component, I want to create another component. A little on/off switch. I selected the two objects and create a component, but the default state has a pencil and not the plus symbol. When I click the pencil it creates a pasteboard (not even sure what that is). The diamonds are also not solid, not sure what I did wrong. I just want to make a component in a component.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your issue here.
Actually we have changed the structure for nested components. As per the issue it looks like you are trying to create a nested component. So currently if you are creating a nested component then the inner main component will convert to an instance, That's why you are seeing a pencil symbol(Edit). And if you are clicking on that button it will create a main component in the pasteboard. If you right click on that component from assets panel and choose  "Edit Main Component" then also you will get the same result. It will create a main component in the pasteboard, as the inner main component is converted to an instance.

I hope this is helpul. If you have any other concern related to this, please reply to this thread.
