[Design]- Changing state of other component

Hi,

I'm new to XD and this feature may be available somewhere but I can't find it so here's the question.

Is there a way to control individual objects' animations instead of triggering all the animations at once from one artboard to another? I get the whole transition from artboard A to artboard B with all its states but is there a way to go between objects' states like that?

As an example:

Say I have a circle, triangle, and a square in the center of the screen. I want to move the circle to the top edge of the screen, before the circle reaches its destination I want to start animating the triangle to the right edge of the screen and after X second delay (say 7 seconds) I want to animate the square to the left edge of the screen.
From what I can see so far, XD doesn't support such animation functionality.

I have the same question when it comes to lerping colors or opacity states for example:

If I try to make one object blurred and then have it not blurred on the next artboard, it just jumps from one state to the other, instead of smoothly transitioning in between. Same happens with the color, white becomes instantly red.

Is transitioning from one artboard to another with a shared transition time and animation type the only way to make things move around in XD?

EDIT: I found the states functionality which would solve having to create multiple artboards issue, but it only seems to work in limited fashion. For example, I want to press button A and as a result change button B's color. So far I can only press button A and affect button A's states but not button B's. If I import an image, I can't even change its size without its proportions being constrained (the lock doesn't do anything) and the opacity doesn't seem to react to auto animate either.

The color and opacity issues still remain.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing feedback. It does sound a great feature request if we can change the state of other components, so I will pass on your feedback to the product team and you can do that too by upvoting this request here: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/38959297-allow-components-event-to-change-states-of-other-c
