[Design]-Resizing the shape from left side in hover state moving the default state to left in XD.

Hi,

I found that, when I try to make hover which resize my rectangle to left side, my default state just move my rectangle to left instead of resize it. Rectangle in second (hover) state is resized and looks OK.

Resizing works only when I grab two left point and move to left but it's not the case, because sometimes my object is more complex and messing aroung with all points one-by-one make the "responsive resize" option useless.

Any hack for this?

Have a nice day y'all

Quick Update: This is an expected behavior as of now. The workaround to get the desired behavior, you can resize the rectange inside the component instead of resizing the component itself.

Please see the attached gif of the workaround process for more clarification.

resize rectangle.gif

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

I tried but I couldn't get what you were trying to do, and how to reproduce it at my end. Can you provide us with a step by step info on your process and the issue that you face in the end?

- Make a ractangle 100x50px

- Make a component of this ractangle

- Add state "HOVER"

- Hold the left side of the ractangle and make it wider (to the left) - not it's suposet d to be 200x50px

- Check ractangle from "default state" - it's moved left side and (not resize, still 100x50px)

For what it's worth: the Hover States and Responsive features are both TOP LEFT oriented. So the objects will remain aligned to their top left position. It would be helpful if Adobe XD would support a Registration Point for all their positioning, scaling and rotating actions (like almost all Adobe and other design tools offer). Group your items with some extraneous invisible element at a top left boundary to force other elements to stay aligned the way you need them.
