As you can see from the video, while typing the text overwrites/replaces current letter with the new letter not pushed to next position. This is now getting irritated as we insert new word or letter in between the sentence, everything need to rewrite completely.

You probably figured it out by now, but this normally happens if you've pressed the "Insert" button on your keyboard, and the cursor starts overwriting text instead of adding new characters. Try pressing it again and see if that fixes it 🙂

Hi Rahul,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble using type tool in Adobe XD. Unfortunately, we're unable to see any attached video in your post. Would you mind sharing the video again? It would be really helpful if you can share the OS & XD version of your machine.

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

I am also having this issue and have been affected by it for a few weeks. I tried the solution you provided (pressing the "insert" key on my keyboard) but that doesn't work. Are there any other ways to get around this isssue because it is highly frustrating and reduces my overall productivity.

Hi, can you provide a bit more info on the issue?

What OS are you on?

When does it happen? Randomly while typing, or after creating a new text layer?
It will be very useful if you can spot a pattern of when the issue appears.

Does it get fixed if you close and open Xd again? What about when pressing Alt+Tab and switching to another program and back to Xd?

I only manage to reproduce this with the previously mentioned Insert key, as it changes the keyboard modes on Windows, and typing starts replacing the symbols instead of "inserting" them as usual.
