The option to drag from the edge of the artboard to create a manual guide was seemingly gone after updating yesterday to version 27.
I had show grid on with command + ' and tried holding various keys ( e.g. alt, shift, option...) while hovering over the edge but the dark grey indicator to pull a guide no longer shows and if I click and drag it just drags the artboard.
Apparently, you have to go View > Guides > Show all guides for this feature to work. I think someone reported this as a bug or an impractical nuisance but I thought maybe I could save someone else from trying to figure out why I couldnt create a guide for 30 minutes...
I really hope that Adobe converts the show grid shortcut or option to be more intuative with guides, like command + shift + ' for show guides

Hi Naay,
Thanks for reaching us,
I tried to reproduce this issue on latest XD 27.2 and i was able to create the art boards guides by dragging from the edges of the artboard and the shortcut to hide/show was (command+;).
Could you please mention in which version of OS you are facing this issue and is there any specific scenario or pre-set you are getting this issue? Also please share us the file if it is file specific issue.
Regards,
Rajasekhar.
