How to create a submenu

Hey everyone--

Trying to figure out how to design submenus or how to show larger menu contexts over mouseover or selecting a top level menu.  Is there some way to display that in designing with XD? 

Is it best just to add everything (as is below) or able to see it as cleaner page?

Below is a sample instance with this twirl down menu.
