Is it possible to change component states in repeat grids ?

I'm having some trouble using these two features together. I made a labelled tab component with multiple states  (default, hover, active, and disabled). I then put the component into a repeat grid thinking I could stretch it horizontally to get a tab bar with multiple tabs (and be able to reuse it when I don't always know how many tabs there will be). That part works. But when I set one of tabs to the active state, they all change to the active state. I can't seem to change just one. Are component states not something that can be changed independently for each instance within repeat grids?

ArtimusPrime99, I ran into the same issue a week ago. What I had to do was to ungroup the repeating grid first and. then I was able to individually change the components' states. Does that make sense? I actually just came on here to see if there was a way to select multiple objects that are the same and change all of there states in one fell swoop. Seems like that can only be done individually at the moment.
