Issues with updating XD

I wonder if anyone else has this problem. My XD doesn't ipdate automatically. It always says it's up to date in the CC app. But it's not. The only way I can update it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling from the product page. It's a pain, frankly. I manage student teams and if a team project has been updated and it's on the newer version than mine, I have to stop a critique or whatever, uninstall and reinstall. Surely this isn't normal? I'm running 10.15.7 a MacBook Pro mid-2015 but the issue has been there from the start - I first used XD when it was in the first Beta just never thought to chase the issue up. Appreciative of any help.

If the auto-update(https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html) is on and still it's not getting updated, please do a clean install by following the steps shared here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
