Keyboard working intermittently after update to v9.1.12.3

Community Beginner ,

System Info:

Adobe XD CC v: 9.1.12.3

OS: Windows 10 Pro v: 1803 build: 17134.112

64-bit, 12GB RAM, Intel i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40Ghz

Issue:

After the latest update, the keyboard stops working.

The app freezes when the text field I'm trying to edit is selected.

The entire app doesn't freeze but all keyboard input is lost.

Sometimes saving will 'unfreeze' it but I still am unable to type.

I have to exit, kill in task manager, restart, and functionality is lost almost instantly after restarting.

The same thing happens if I use built-in keyboard or external Logitech.

I sort of need to be able to type when I use XD...

Any help or tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion. Once you open the UserVoice and look for Nina's comment you will see two links as shown in the screenshot below:

Depending upon your Win10 build, open the link and you will see the steps to be followed to fix the issue. Please let us know if you face any issues with this.

Hi Harshika

The IT at my company upgraded my laptop to Win 10. But I’m still having the problems that XD is stuck and I need to restart the program every 20 minutes.

I’m thinking maybe to purchase Figma instead. Can you help me in fixing this bug? Or I should move to other UX program?

Thanks and have a great week,

Hemda

Apologize for your experience. Just to be sure, is this an issue with the keyboard, or with launching Adobe XD on your computer? If it is an issue with Adobe XD launching on Windows, try solutions in Adobe XD launches into a white screen on Windows

Thanks,

I create a script for Windows OS to copy a random value to clipboard, this batch script run the following command.

echo|set/p=fixAdobeXD|clip

Create a text file, copy and paste this command and save file with .bat extension, with two clicks on this script this bug will be solved.

Hi Tanvir,

Thanks for reaching out. Please open notepad > Copy the command > Save the file > Under File Type drop-down menu select All files and then while saving the file add ".bat" in the extension.

Let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.

Same here!

After an hour of talking to support, the solution they gave me is to wait for the problem to be resolved.

This is not normal. I can't work like this.

Same problem here, i see more ppl having the same problem and support asks them the same stupid questions again and again.
I am sure some windows 10 update is triggering the problem, but it's on Adobe's side the solve it, not to keep delaying it.
The same problem is seen in 2018, 2019 and now in 2020

Hi there,

We're so sorry to hear about the trouble. We can surely escalate this further for that, would you mind sharing a few more details like:

  1. The version of XD and the Windows build.
  2. Once it happens again, please collect system logs by following the steps shared here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html

These pieces of information will help us in logging a ticket and investigating this further.

Press "Windows Key" + "R" on your keyboard.

On the dialog that opens, type the following:
C:\Windows\system32\ctfmon.exe or just this -> ctfmon.exe
Click Ok or tap enter on your keyboard. This works for me.
