Object placed linked from Library disappear after editing.

I create document into Illustrator.

Create ractangle.

Darg and drop this ractangle to Library CC.

Insert (place) linked object to Adobe XD document from Library CC.

Next, I edit rectangle from Library and change background color.

Then object disapeard from Adobe XD project.

I can select them, but nothing is displayed.

If I try use edit option, then display error 29 (probalby photoshop is broken) - but this is vector object, which is editing into Illustrator.

Problem appears on v.29 and v.30.

Do You have the same problems with pasted linked objects from Library CC?

I tried reproducing this issue. I moved the rectangle from the library into XD. Now, how did you change the background color of the linked file?

Sorry for the late reply. I am unable to reproduce this issue on my computer. Can you share a GIF file or a quick video here so that I can try reproducing it using the same procedure?

Thanks,

Preran

Hello,

Is the community facing the same issued? My team works on inserting screens on the same cloud file we share, and we have 2 major problems:

(1) The screens one member inserts go missing after the next member edits the file; (2) Components and objects reset to original state, and we have to re-work the screens with every transfer, wasting hours of our time.

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with collaboration in XD. We would like to know a few more details for better understanding-

  • If all the collaborators are on the latest version of XD and are you all working on same operating system?
  • Is it happening with a specific file or all the file?
  • Since how long you're experiencing this issue?

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi Harshika,

Thanks, and to answer your questions:

  • Yes, all XD applications on all machines are updated to the latest version and we all use Mac OS
  • It is happening to all cloud files we work on; no specific to a single file
  • We started this assignment early June (almost 1 month), and the faults are slowing our delivery significantly

Thanks,

Maryam

I have the same problem.

I think this is Adobe XD bug.

Read this topic: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-xd/object-placed-linked-from-library-disappear-after-editing/td...

Maybe this topics should be merged.

Object placed linked from Library disappear after editing.

Insert place linked object to Adobe XD document from Library CC.

If I try use edit option, then display error 29 (probalby photoshop is broken) - but this is vector object, which is editing into Illustrator.

Problem appears on v.29 and v.30.

Reinstal not resolve this problem.

Uninstall antivirus and disable firewall don't resolve this problem.

Problem not occurs into photoshop and illustrator, only XD have this issue.

50% resolve problem solution:

Objects placed by method drag and drop from library works fine.

After edit library object everything is visible.

That works fine.

BUT. There is small problem.

If object is palced to project from library by drag drop method, he don't have options like. shadow.

Only if you place object by right click into library and chose from contect menu place linked, then you can set apperance options like blend mode, shadow, border, background, and other.

If object is placed by place linked method apperance options are not avaliable.

Hi Mkdes,

We are sorry for the delay in response. I am unable to reproduce the same at my end on the windows machine. Could you please check if you're experiencing the issue on the current version of XD 31 as well? If so, please share the file with me over a PM so that I can test at my end. Is it happening with every asset you add to the CC library?

We will try our best to help.

Note: Please share the URL of this post over a PM for reference.

Thanks,

Harshika

This is not file problem.

This is software issue.

You can create file and You will see.

Everything is on the movie above.

You probably don't reproduce this issue in correct way.

Most important is place linked object by use Mouse Right Click and select Place Linked from context menu. This is on the movie in 1 min. 4 sec.

Then the described error occurs.

But if You use SHIFT key pushed, and use mouse to Drag And Drop, then everything works fine. After editing object into library, he is actualized into Adobe XD correctly.

Most important is place object like on the movie, not by drag and drop with shift button pushed.
