Hello I have problems with my adobe xd files I get an error when trying to open them I get the error 86 and I don't know how I can fix them since the new files that I am making are also being damaged with the same error. Thank you.

Please ensure that you're on the latest version XD 34. In order to investigate this issue, we'd need the this file and logs from your machine. Please use this tool (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html) and upload the logs and the file to CC or dropbox and share the link via PM (To send a private message, go to my profile by click on the avatar and hit "Send a message")

Thank you for waiting patiently. The product team tried to recover the document, however, the attempt was unsuccessful. It was very unfortunate, I am really sorry about it.
We have filed a bug, to avoid such circumstances in the future.
I know there has been post regarding this, but the screenshot I see from other post looks different, and don't see any solution this, so creating a new post to ask again.
I have tried to terminate the Adobe processes via the Activity Monitor, but no luck.
Even tried to install older versions
but all failed with the same error code.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using external drives (USB drive, external HDD/SSD) or network shares?
Date and time (time zone) of the incident:
Was the file(s) on the external drives, network shares, and/or folders synced to cloud at any point in time?
Where were the files saved?
Did you observe issues with other files (XD or other types of files)?
Did you do a force shutdown of the computer or experienced a power loss?
Did you create the document where the issue is observed or was it shared?
Is there any antivirus activated on the machine? If yes, what is the name of the antivirus.
Did all the files failed to load at the same time or at different points in time (i.e. different days)?
Please share the XD file with me over a private message so that I can escalate it to the team. You may upload the file to a shared location such as Creative Cloud or Dropbox and share the url.
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Could you please ensure that XD is updated to the latest version which is 220.127.116.11 and then try opening the file and let us know if it works? If it doesn't works, will it be possible for you to share the file with us to test it? Hi, I'm having problems when i want to open a new file in xd. the error code 86 ( this is not a valid file ) appears. How can i fix it?
When will this product be out of its alpha testing? My users are always having issues. Uninstall and reinstall is a monthly routine.
I was working on a XD file that is saved in my laptop and the designs in that file are copied from another cloud file that is shared with me. I updated my windows and now when I'm opening my file it's showing Error:86, how could I resolve this issue, I literally had a lot of completed designs in it, how I supposed to open it ?

I found a work around!
My Adobe XD files are saved directly to Dropbox. When I try opening XD files from the cloud, it fails and gives me the error code. I figured out that if I download the file to my computer, I can open it.
My work process:
I'm facing a problem opening an xd file (saved locally in my hard drive, not a cloud document)
I get this error

is there any way to retrieve the file, it's for a client and I don't want to waste a week of work

Thank you very much, the folders have weird names but I was able to find them based on the date modified, and the file is named copy but thank you very much I retrieved the file 🙂
As of the 22nd February 2021 there is no solution to this issue.
I've tried all the suggestions on this forum and others, and Adobe XD still crashes and does not work.
There was a new update to Adobe XD Version 37.1.32 today, and it still does not work.
This is a serious bug that Adobe simply does not seem to care to resolve at all.
Sadly, I am now using other manufacturer software to Wireframe my websites.
It is simply incredible that Adobe is leaving such an important element of the Adobe Suite totally unattended, unresolved, for so long!
Please do something about it!
So, I had the same problem, but I resolved this issue using the following method:
The file that I was attempting to open was at Dropbox.
When I was trying to download directly from the folders that appear in Dropbox using in this case the free download manager, always give me that error.
But when in Dropbox I click the file, another window opens, and then there is a download button.
Using that button the file has arrived with no corruption.

Hi, I stored my data in an external drive and yesterday i was trying to open those old files as i required for my another designing project but its showing me an error 86 while i am opening the files. Hi guys, I've recently updated my Adobe XD to V22.214.171.124 and after opening a file I'm getting:
Error code: 86 This is not a valid XD document.
Then the application crashes.
Any way around this?
I've tried rolling back the Version and opening the file but the same thing happens.
Otherwise I will have to Timemachine my Mac to recover the file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's for a work deadline.
