When sharing something such as a UI kit with a team of designers at a large organization, it seems the only option currently is to allow everyone access to edit the master file. Additionally, if changes are made to that master file, all we get is a notification that it's been updated with NO other option but to accept the changes. Why would we even be prompted to accept if we had no other option? Once the changes are accepted, there is no clear way to identify what's been changed or who changed it.
The direction XD is heading with design system capabilities is great—but in order for this to work at scale, there needs to be a more sophisticated capabilities for assigning permissions (i.e. to view and copy/paste components from a master library but not to edit), ability for the owner(s) to see the changes before accepting them, and ability to see a version history of what changed+date+user. Maybe these features are already under way, which would be awesome.
