trouble using the 3D .GLB models

Hello,

It's been several weeks that I'm having a lot of trouble using the 3D .GLB models in the latest after effects beta.
Everything works great when I create a set with several 3D elements and then when I save and open my project the next day, the set disappears in a very small box (see picture). When I press "play" to launch my camera animation (dolly), everything is slow, the image jumps, and everything in 3D disappears in a very small box like on the picture.

Have you already encountered this problem ?

Thanks for your help!

@thomasd11174364, thank you for sending me the files. I can reproduce this, though only on Windows. I've filed a bug and sent it to the developers to investigate.

Hi @thomasd11174364,

Thanks for posting about the issues you've been seeing.

Could you record a screen capture of the problems that occur when you preview your comp? It would help to see the problem in action.

Also, could you share the project file and source files? It would be helpful for us to try to recreate the problem. You can DM a link to the files directly to me if you don't want to share publicly.

When the 3D models appear small, if you select one and choose Layer > Model Settings, has the Object Scale value changed from the last time you set it?

Great! Thanks a lot.

What's strange is that it does it to me on Mac...

Can't wait to hear more! Could you let me know what the developers' response is?

I'll update this thread when we have more information. The developers are investigating. Current indicators point towards a timing issue with how After Effects and the Mercury 3D renderer are communicating about frames in the cache. Timing issues are always tricky and often difficult to reproduce, and it could explain why you're seeing it on Mac but I'm not.

This issue was resolved last week in the AE beta build 24.0x34. Please feel free to download the AE beta build from CCD or you can wait for AE 24.0 which will be released on 26th Sept 2023.

Thanks for your patience.

-Joy.
