Error when trying to modify an added shapelayer modifier

Steps to reproduce:

When having a basic shapelayer and adding a modifier, like a repeater, a new stroke etc. and trying to modify any of it's properties, I get this alert and I am not able to do changes:

After Effects (Beta) error: internal verification failure, sorry! {asked for invalid component of property path}

22.1x11 is rolling out to the creative cloud desktop app now, should be available in about 30 minutes. It has the fix for this issue.

Ah, still there - I opened a project I've been working on for a couple of weeks, added a 'Wiggle Paths' to a shape layer (fine) then twirled open the Wiggle Paths' controls, and crash. I'm on 22.1.0x19.

Sorry we weren't clear which build would fix the crashing issue. It'll be in 22.1x21 coming out later today.

Just a thought (or a spanner in the works maybe) - while you're working on Shape Layers, how about fixing the decades-old bug where a Gradient Fill's handles disappear if the Gradient Fill is not within a shape group? To replicate the bug:

1. With a comp open, double-click the Rectangle Tool to create a full screen rectangle
2. In the shape layer, do Add > Gradient Fill. See those lovely gradient handles appear.
3. Drag that Gradient Fill out of the Rectangle 1 group
4. See those handles vanish!

(I've reported the bug a few times over the years, but it's evidently not important enough to fix).
