Steps to reproduce:
    1. GPU not available in "Video Rendering and Effects" panel. It is grayed out.
    2. Dispaly Acceleration is disabled.
 
System info
    Application: After Effects (Beta) v17.7.0.40
    OS: Windows v10.0.19041, RAM: 63.91 GB, CPUs (logical): 20
    GPU and Drivers ver.: GTX 1080 Ti, Nvidia Studio Drivers ver. 460.89
