Problem Description:
If I hit shift-F5 to take a snapshot (or click the snapshot icon), AE takes about 10 seconds or more to actually take the snapshot. AE remains completely responsive during that time however. I'm using 18.4.0 (Build 24) on a very fast machine.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press shift-F5 (or shift-F6, -F7, -F8)
2. Nothing happens
3. Continue to use AE for a few seconds
4. Press F5 to display the snapshot
5. AE sounds an alert to say "there's no snapshot stored"
6. Wait a few seconds longer
7. Camera snapshot sound plays and a snapshot is taken
Expected Result:
Snapshot should be taken immediately
