2 bugs and a feature request with After Effects 25.2 (running a script/text animators/glow effect)

The first bug is the simplest to describe/report. As of 25.2, when I create a text layer and then select some text and right-click, I am no longer able to add a text animator (the option is greyed out/not selectable).
--
The second bug is that running a script through Kbar disables the option to use keyboard shortcuts to select another layer (ctrl+up/down) unless I select the composition panel again. This is also new as of 25.2.

I have a script that copies any markers on a selected layer to the composition timeline. It used to be the case that I could click the Kbar button to run the script, press ctrl+up to select a different layer, and then press the Kbar button again without having to reselect the composition panel.

The feature request is related to the Glow effect. It used to be that the glow radius and intensity were simple values (presumable pixel values?). Now they are percentages which for some reason makes stacking multiple instances of glow far less intuitive and more complicated to figure out good values for each of those parameters. It seems to be that the calculations are not calculated on the same sort of distribution as they were previously? (this may be totally inaccurate, but it felt right to say [though TBH, I'm out of me depth with that last sentence]). It would be nice if there were a way to pick between using the pixel (?) values like before or the percentages. Or if the previous way could be added as a separate legacy effect?

I'm on a PC running After Effects 25.2 (though I'm about to roll back to 25.1).

Hi @Brynocerous,

I'm happy to report that your First bug (Text Layer context menu) and your feature request (Glow) have just been shipped in the AE version 25.2.2.

Your scripting related bug is still under investigation.

Hope this helps,

Hi @Brynocerous,

Thanks for the detailed report. I'm helping @jenkmeister digging into your second bug.
Would you be able to DM me your script, and a screenshot/screenrec of your kbar setup so I can try to reproduce your issue internally?

This is wonderful news! Thank you!!

(Also, I'm really sorry about putting three things in one post - I hope that didn't make things too difficult)

I'm not sure how/why, but the scripting error seems to be fixed at this point! I had updated to 25.2.2 yesterday and was still noticing some errors running the script through KBar (as well the same issue with other plugins), but everything is working as expected today.

I didn't change anything and to my knowledge neither After Effects nor the plugins have updated, so I'm not sure what happened. It's possible it was an issue totally unrelated to Ae (though that feels unlikely since I wasn't having those issues with other versions of Ae).

In any case, thank you for all of your help with this! I'd say all three things from this are solved 🙂
