A negative time on import from Illustrator

New Here ,
May 18, 2025 May 18, 2025

Imported a vector file from Adobe Illustrator and One object came in with a neagtive starting time and ending at zero time.

Is there any way to fix or avoid this issue?

I have been unable to adjust the start and end times for this one object.

I have attached a snapshot of the issue.

I am using After Affects version 25.2.2 (Build 2)

Any insite would be helpful.

Hey @rgeeman007,

Two questions:

  1. Would you be able to DM me that file?
  2. It looks like all of your layers were imported as image sequences, rather than individual layers; was that intentional?

Thanks,

You have imported the AI file as an image sequence. Try importing again and pay attention to the options when you import as a composition.

I uploaded the artwork again with the above optons and the issue went away.  Thanks!

That's usually a result of accidentally pressing right bracket (]) without realizing it.  Pressing left bracket ([) will set the Layer Time Span back.
