AE 23.1 broken H264 Decoding

Our studio upgraded to 23.1 .. anything using H264 in our assets now plays back green in AE. We rolled back to 23.0 ... everything is back to normal.

Hi @Heathenlamb,

Are you using NVIDIA hardware? An NVIDIA driver was causing green H264 files, but they have recently released a driver update (527.56) to fix the issue more. More details here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/after-effects-2023-green-preview-with-h-264-files/m-p/13363316/page/4 

 

Please let us know if updating GPU drivers fixes the issue you're seeing.

You can deactivate hardware acceleration for ecoding video in Preferences > Import. Purge the cache and restart After Effects. This should solve your problem.
