I can't say for sure, but after two or three more recent versions of AE Beta I started to get a random error, after working for a few minutes the whole computer crashes and then this Direct2D Drawbot Error box. HRESULT:-2005270523 appears, but I can't close it, it keeps reopening endlessly and then I have to force close the program.

I've been using AE Beta since they redid the interface, it's just become another program! It's very fluid and enjoyable. I'm not using to use the retail version because he not received the interface update., but I can say that the problem is in the beta, because when i use the reail version there is no issue i don't have any errors or freezes.

Here's a picture of the error I get when I close.

Hi all,

We've identified the HRESULT:-2005270523 error as DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED, which occurs when the GPU device has been removed, potentially as a result of a driver crash. Updating GPU drivers is typically prescribed as the best fix, so please give that a try and let us know if the error continues to occur.

@Thiago Guimarães The 555.99 driver is from last June, so there may be a more recent one available.

If updating your GPU drivers does not stop the error from occuring, please let us k

This error started happening after I updated my After Effects to version 2025. And this error is happening more and more frequently. I'm usually using After Effects on projects that aren't even heavy, when suddenly my screen goes black, and when the screen comes back, AE shows this error and the preview goes black, making it impossible to view the video preview inside AE. I don't know what it could be, I've used programs to stress the CPU, GPU and RAM. These programs caused the usage to reach 100% and the screen blanking problem didn't happen. I really don't know what it could be, if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it in advance.

Without system, os, and workflow details, pointing you to a solution isn't easy. I'm not having any problems at all right now with AE.

If your AE is up-to-date or you have tried rolling back a build or two using the Creative Cloud app, the only constructive suggestion I could make is to set the amount of RAM allocated to other apps to an even multiple of 4 GB in Preferences. If you do not have lots of memory, use four  GB. Eight or Twelve if you have a lot of memory to spare. Then, when you run After Effects, quit all other apps not needed for your effects work.

After effect warning: Direct2D Drawbor Error: HRESULT: -2005270523
I just updated to the latest version of After Effects, and the software frequently encounters this kind of error. How can I fix it?

Hello,

I have had this same issue for a few months now and I am losing my mind as I've reinstalled AE, my Graphics driver, as well as ran in safe mode, or with no plugins. I almost paid for a new graphics card assuming mine had died, but there seems to be many with this issue.

It's killing me and my deadlines.

I switched to an older version.
My Adobe Premiere also encountered a similar issue, where it would freeze and restart the computer after about 20 minutes.
I haven't found the cause yet, but my solution was to switch back to an older version, and the issue has stopped occurring.
