AE Error: Could not convert Unicode Characters 23::46 After Changing the Color Engine to OCIO

Community Beginner ,

I know there's a solution posted in the past, I did that and thus I never had any issue.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/ae-error-could-not-convert-unicode-characte...

This is my first time to actually encounter this issue as I switched to OCIO.

Whether using AE's own ACES or custom OCIO file, this issue persists.

Hi @UrariK,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Do you experience the "Could not convert Unicode..." error when launching After Effects after changing a project to use OCIO? Also, what are your system specifications and display language?

Thank you for any additional information you can provide,

Hi, the error occurs whenever I import a file whose path contains non-English character, such as Japanese in my case.

The error message won't appear again until you import another file. and the project is fully workable.

However, the error message becomes problematic when you import any sequence, whether it's PNG or EXR. The error message will keep poping up. You close one, another one will immediately pop up. I guess because sequence essentially contains many images, but it keeps coming, even if it resolves after many clicks, sometimes it still randomly pops up when you click "layer" in the extractor, or when you starts to render, etc.

Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 64 Bits

Display Language Japanese.
