Audio glitches in exported video

After updating to AE 25.1.0 (Build 68), the audio in my project renders with strange artifacts.

By strange, I mean that when playing back the video, everything seems fine and first.  The audio track plays exactly as expected, but after some time it starts playing earlier portions of that same audio overlayed on the current audio.  Then the overlay stops and the main audio continues normally.  Sometimes there are multiple sections all playing on top of each other.  Sometimes there's a click.  It's not in the project; for one thing ,the project was working fine two days ago.  For another, each time I render the audio problems are different and occur at different times.

It doesn't matter if I render in AE or in Media Encoder.

I appreciate any help.

It sounds like you are running out of RAM. Try going to the Edit menu and selecting Edit/Purge/All Memory and Disk Cache, then set the Preview Panel to Cache before Playback and set the resolution to Auto. That should give you the maximum playback duration your system can handle. If you want 4 times more playback, set the Magnification Ratio in the Comp panel to 50%. If you need more duration, set the Preview Panel to skip a frame.

AE is not a video editing app; real-time previews are limited to the available system RAM resources.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'm not talking about preview.  I'm talking about rendering out via Export.  It doesn't matter whether I render in AE or with Media Encoder.  I'll monitor my RAM usage while the render happens, but it is a 32GB machine, and it was working fine a few days ago.  Again, I appreciate you trying to help.
