Bug: Home screen fills multiple monitors, and then some

Participant ,
Mar 11, 2025 Mar 11, 2025

Issue: I don't use the home screen typically , but when it appears (e.g. I need to start in safe mode), it's massive, starting at monitor 2 (middle) and extending beyond monitor 3 (right).

Fix: Have it constrain itself to the "main" monitor, only.

Hi Greg,

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the After Effects home screen appearing across multiple monitors when starting in safe mode. Sorry about that. Annoying issue, eh?

Reset Preferences: Sometimes, resetting After Effects preferences can resolve display issues. You can do this by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac) while starting After Effects. This will give you the Startup Repair Options dialog box. Reset the preferences to their default settings to see if it helps.

Adjust Display Settings: Ensure that your display settings are configured correctly. Go to your system's display settings and see if you can set the main monitor as the primary display. This can help After Effects recognize the main monitor and constrain the home screen to it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

Best regards,

Kevin
